He's BACK!

Michael went yesterday for his follow up appointment with the orthopedist and received great news, he was cleared for "full" use of his right hand again! Its been 10 weeks since his injury and we are so thankful for his healing. Michael returned to work today, and when I spoke to him last he had gotten each IV stick on the 1st try. Praise the Lord!

He still has severe stiffness in his thumb so he will be starting PT soon. We will continue to pray for a full recovery but this friends & family is wonderful news!

Yellow House?

A few more pictures of the house progress. The front will be painted grey in the coming weeks and the door will be a rustic red. I can't wait to see it all come together. The inside paint colors have me a little anxious, hoping that part is done soon so I can relax. If you are free April 28th, come on over and help carry a box or two!

What a stud!

They move fast! Here we are with studs and soon to be a roof.

Stairs
And this will be our tiled shower...eventually.

Super Bowl Party!

Our Sunday School Class, Common Ground, has an annual tradition of watching the super bowl & eating chili. Only the chili is a "chili competition" and the intensity level was high this year! We had a great time visiting, laughing at commercials, and eating great food.

Oh and did I mention Michael won? He was thrilled!

Turning 30

Well, it happened. In February, I turned 30 and it really wasn't so bad. My day started off with breakfast from Michael & a little gift. This was just 2 weeks after breaking his thumb, he opted for items he could easily place on my tray. Love it! My sisters & Michael threw me a surprise party that was so much fun! But I have no pictures to post since I thought I was going to a quiet dinner with just my husband. Thanks guys! I did get a picture with my baby sister Ashley. Our birthdays are only 5 days apart and its tradition to celebrate together!

I love a homemade cookie cake!

Going down steps...Superman Style!

So on January 17th, I got the call every wife dreads. "Emily, we are taking Michael to the ER." Yep, he tripped going down the steps and flew head & thumb first into the cement brick wall. Ouch! He crushed his thumb at the joint. Poor guy has been a trooper (well most days) as he has been off work since trying to heal. He has become a great "house husband" and is taking excellent care of me. Kind of going to miss him when he gets released for work.

These are kind of funny...Reece thinks the splint is a toy...ok so not funny to Michael but you get the idea!

A foundation

The building process continues and now we have a foundation. Its exciting to watch the house develop and slightly nauseating at the same time. Michael has been out meeting all our new neighbors and we think this is going to be an excellent place to live. Good thing since its too late if we didn't like it! We even took Reece by to see her new bathroom, since thats all she could really appreciate it at this point.
