July 4th

To celebrate July 4th this year I requested we attend Pops in the Park. I had never attended this event before and I was so excited to see the fireworks especially. We ate dinner with Leslie, Sean, & Jack and then headed down to Coolidge Park for the celebration.

It was SO crowded but we manipulated our way into the crowd and had excellent seats for the orchestra portion of the show. I even brought Michael & I each a Dr. Pepper "old school" glass bottle to drink. But yes, I am the girl who didn't think to bring the bottle top opener. Who knew you needed one?! Some very nice gentleman had one he leant us...thanks again sir.

The music was good but then it was time for the fireworks (again...why we were there). We repositioned our chairs as best we could but yes, the display was just beyond the tree line right beside us! We couldn't really see anything. Sad times.

Next year, our seats will be on the other side of those trees...again who knew?!
